Hello and welcome to my blog.
I'm inviting you to come visit with me from time to time so I thought it would be appropriate to tell
you a little bit about myself. I am a 60 "something" single lady and currently practice as a nurse practitioner in a cardiology
clinic. I’m rapidly getting to that stage
in life where I am looking forward to retirement in the next 3 to 5 years. I’m arthritic and just plain ole tired!
I’m more
than ready to move on to doing what I want to do, when I want to do it--it never hurts to dream does it? This is where my sister, Betty, comes into the picture. We all like a partner in our adventures, don’t we? Betty and I both love junking and we have been picking
for vintage bargains for years, but individually. We decided to team up as the Eastern Kentucky version
of the Picker Sisters (old, fat women who like to dig into trunks, boxes,
houses—you get the picture). We started
by each opening our own Etsy shops and progressed to getting ourselves vendor booths
at a local antique mall. It has been tremendous fun (as well as a little friendly competition) to share this passion with a beloved sister.
This blog
will be about some of the “treasures” we find and revitalize with a little
paint, fabric and good old fashion TLC.
However, I have several other areas of interest I like to pursue as well and I expect
to be sharing some of these with you as well.
Such as:
- Appalachian history, particularly Eastern Kentucky
- Genealogy (don’t worry, I won’t bore you about my granddaddy’s daddy)—but I would like to share some photos of old heirloom quilts, some old family recipes, and old-time traditions my grandmother shared with me
- For vacations, I love going to the Appalachian mountains (# 1) and the Outer Banks of North Carolina (# 2) and there may be a pic or two of my travels (I’m always striving to get that perfect photo that captures the beauty of nature and always seem to fall short!)
- I love the Lord Jesus, so you may get a devotional once in awhile
Well, that
may be a tad bit more than “a little” about me.
I have been told (on more than one occasion actually) that I am wordy, but I
just don’t get why they would think that, do you?
Love this! And I love the picture.
ReplyDeleteAnd your New Year's Resolutions sound like goals to me too. :)
